What to wear while working from home?
It looks like during this pandemic and quarantine people are moving more toward wearing comfortable clothes while work from home. Pants sales overall went down, shirts and tops sales went up. Why are people switching to shirts and tops and leaving their pants in the closets? The answer is probably obvious—it’s more comfy!
Our shirt collection at Urban Phoenicia fits the comfy and casual category. Unless you have a video conference or an online business meeting you probably don’t want to be dressed up all day while working from home. Online shirts sales and tops for men and women has probably surged over the past few months. This is a good and bad news for some online clothing stores as well as brick and mortar stores. The up side is that people are ordering more shirts and tops online, which is good of businesses, but also leaving behind other “unnecessary” items. Shirts are becoming the new stay at home comfort-outfit for many different reasons.
3 reasons why people are opting more for shirts while working from home:
- Convenience is one of the reasons why people prefer wearing shirts while working from home. Shirts are also relatively cheaper and more available during “stay at home” times.
- Comfort is what we look for when we are stuck at home—it could be a great thing after all. Often times we struggle to be comfortable sitting for 8 hours per day behind our desks in our cubicles—working from home is actually not that bad in comparison. Wearing shirts can give you a sense of comfort and take away some of the stress that you normally feel working from office. Shirt-it-up!
- Chic is what it’s all about! I heard some cool stories from friends during the quarantine that they are getting creative with what they wear on day to day basis. Some are going all casual, some are mixing it up. Combinations of Shirt-boxers, shirt-underwear’s, and shirt Pajamas are more common themes that a lot of my friends are wearing. At the end of the day you have to make it happen one way or another, so get creative!
Look professional and stay comfy
For the past few decades businesses have been changing their dress code into more casual/comfy code. They realize that for their employees to be more productive and efficient they have to feel “at home” while at work. Wearing Polo shirts and other styles of shirts can make a difference in the person’s mood and energy. Having to wake up every morning and wear a suit and a tie can be stressful for a lot of people. It gets old real quick. Knowing that you don’t have to look super formal everyday can take away some of the pressure in the morning and free up some of your time to do other things that you enjoy.
